Just stitchin around

Image
Doing a bit more stitching on my Turkish Delight . A sort of square spiral - free motion. It was surprisingly easy to create.  I followed the shape of the square from the outer edge inti the centre. Almost ready now to start adding 'embellishments' ......

Good old Aberavon Beach

Been down the beach today taking pictures here is a taster, but check out my Double Wedding ring and my Autumn quilts enjoying the beach on 'My Quilts' page.  And lots of shells on my 'Inspiration' page.

Just for fun - Mug Rugs

Image
Here are some quick mug rugs I made today. Don't you just love the 'Beach Ladies'.  p.s. Mug rugs are bigger than a coaster and smaller than a placemat. Just big enough for a mug and a biscuit.

Ok getting fed up now

Picture of my Turkish Delight the right way up! I have started stitching on it this afternoon -

Turkish Delight

Image
Been doing a bit more work -  putting A frame around. It should look a bit like a window when it's finished. Have to plan the quilting now. Was thinking of straight lines - fake brick work or maybe some Turkish designs. Um.....time for some online research

I have a plan

You know I told you all I was going to take some photos of my quilts - well they look a bit boring on the bed, so I have a plan.  I am going to take them on location.  So if you spot a 'young' lady taking pictures of quilts out and about - it could be me!  I might even take them to the beach.

Putting my Turkish Delight together

It's starting to look like something now.

How's it going

Well I have had a busy week getting this blog going. It has helped me focus on my projects - hopefully it will keep me on the straight and narrow - and get me finishing what I have started. Today I am going to take some more pictures. I was hoping for some sun but it's a grey old day in Port Talbot today. Also I am going to work on my Turkish Delight. Then at 2.30 this afternoon it's needle down time as Wales take on Italy in rugby. Hope it's not as close as their last game against England when it was so close I had to hide behind the settee.

Turkish D Step 2

Iron them onto heat n bond in sets of nine with alternate non fringed squares. I am trying the new heat n bond fratherweight for this project.

Turkish D. Step one

Turkish Delight sketch

This is the final sketch for my Turkish Delight challenge quilt. Mind you that's not to say it won't take on a life of it's own as I put it together.

Up and sort of running

Ok, I think I'm starting to get the hang of  blogspot. Have managed to post some links to my favourite places.  Next I need to post some pics of my current projects. I am hoping that by keeping this blog it will help me focus on my work because I do tend to jump about from project to project with lots on the go.  I have been told these should be referred to as W.I.P.'s (Works in progress) and not U.F.O.'s (Unfinished objects).  Anyway, off to take some pics of my wip's......
