Crochet Snowflake (Small)
I Like to start with a Magic Circle
(or you can use a 4 Chain start slip stitched together to create a circle)
Either Or is fine
Make first First Chain of Magic Circle tight to start off
Round One
Chain four (this represents 1 Half Treble and 2 Chains)
*Into the Circle make one Half Treble then Two Chains*
Next
Repeat from * to * Four more times pull your Magic Circle tight from centre.
Then slip stitch to 2nd chain of the four Chains at beginning of round.
(Round one should have 6 Half Trebles and 6 Two Chain Spaces as pic above)
Round 2
Slip stitch into first two chain space
Chain three (this creates the first stitch)
Into same two chain space Work two Half Trebles then end with two chains.
*Into next two chain space work
Three Half Trebles end with Two Chains*
Repeat from * to * 4 more times into remaining 4 two chain spaces.
Finish round with slip stitch into 3rd chain from beginning of round.
(You will now have 6 Three Half Treble clusters and 6 Two Chain spaces as pic above)
Round 3
Slip stitch to next two chain space (that's one slip stitch in top of 2nd half treble)
*Slip stitch into two chain space.
Work into 2 chain space to create snowflake points
Two Chains - then slip stitch back into two chain space
Four Chains - then slip stitch back into two chain space
Six Chains - then slip stitch back into two chain space
Four Chains then slip stitch back into two chain space
Two Chains - then slip stitch back into two chain space
slip stitch into top of second three Half Treble Cluster (this slip stitch helps you travel from last two chain space to next two chain space)*
(You have now created one Snowflake point)
Repeat from * to * five times to complete Round Three (Six Snowflake 'points')
Slip Stitch to top of 2nd Half Treble to Complete Your Snowflake
Below halfway around Round Three with 3 of the 6 points completed.
Phew!
Now I've completed the instructions for the Small Crochet Snowflake (which took far longer to write than it took to Make the Snowflake!) the instructions for the Medium Crochet Snowflake should be a breeze.......
